Had a similar problem with my 2001 330i. They traced it to an aftermarket CD changer I had installed. The electrical software allows the battery to still provide current when the ignition is off (that's how you can still close your windows/sunroof after you turn the engine off), and the aftermarket CD interface confused the system. Once I disconnected it, problem went away. Bummer is I had to install a factory CD changer that cost twice as much.

So this is an update on this problem of the car spontaneously seeing a battery drain when left overnight. (2005 525i 9/04 build date).

Originally, the dealer thought this was due to my keeping the BT phone on and in the car overnight.? Indeed, when I stopped doing this, the incidence of the drain dropped from every night to once every week or two.

The dealer has now had the car for two weeks and the SM called me to say that it finally died again last night.? They did see the car wake up, but are not quite sure why.

Meanwhile, I am talking to the Sales Manager about getting the car replaced or getting out of the deal entirely and giving up on the E60.? Not sure what I am going to do.? One part of me just wants to find a nice 2003 E39 and go that route.

so finally dealer found out this is not phone issue.. Great.. now.. how long it would take them to figure out where the problem comes from??
I hope you get BMW loaner car.
I have service oppointment next week and my dealer told me, I will not get bmw loaner, instead they will give me compact loaner from enterprises rental place

For $150 you could buy an Optima Yellow Top battery. It's a deep cycle battery that is designed to withstand being drained. I used to be able to run a 1800 watt stereo for hours at competition events without the engine running, then start the car up with no issues. It wouldn't get run down overnight.

I don't think this is permanent solution for this. what if for long run?
I am sure even if $150 battery won't last that long, with drainage in battery all night for everyday.

You might be surprised.

The Optima is designed to be drained way down, then recharged again. It doesn't lose the ability to gain full charge as easily as standard batteries. They don't last forever.... but carry warranty against drainage for several years.... regardless of use. Kill it.... go get a new one free.
