Most likely due to the alternator. If it is not charging enough to the battery, this might happen. Alternatevly, if you did install any ICE in the car, there could be a current leak in the amp, speakers and all other components. You might want to bring it to the ICE man to check.

So the answer is: Bluetooth. I keep a SE T610 celphone in my car turned on at all times. The dealer says that this is keeping the car from going to sleep and eventually draining the battery, even though the key is off.
This, of course, is not documented anywhere in the manuals, etc.
So be warned...if you use bluetooth, make sure to turn the phone off or take it with you.

So this is an update on this problem of the car spontaneously seeing a battery drain when left overnight. (2005 525i 9/04 build date).
Originally, the dealer thought this was due to my keeping the BT phone on and in the car overnight. Indeed, when I stopped doing this, the incidence of the drain dropped from every night to once every week or two.
The dealer has now had the car for two weeks and the SM called me to say that it finally died again last night. They did see the car wake up, but are not quite sure why.
Meanwhile, I am talking to the Sales Manager about getting the car replaced or getting out of the deal entirely and giving up on the E60. Not sure what I am going to do. One part of me just wants to find a nice 2003 E39 and go that route.

same problem. Went in the garage; replaced battery, problem came back again. I see the light of the automatic transmission is still working.
(always the same problem;BMW did not learn about the mistakes; DO NOT USE MICROSOFT in your system;Maybe a solution=CLOSE ALL WINDOWS AND RESTART or call microsoft for support (hahahaha)
