Oh ya I forgot to mention that also. Plus they won't fold if the car is running too but how I wish it can easily be set to where they will fold automatically (w/o pushing any buttons) when leaving the car and unfold automatically when you enter the car. Lexus and Mercedes can do it, idk why BMW couldn't put a simple option like that

i have an e60, oct/2008 m sports, comes with electric/memory sit. i have no button on the driver side to fold the side mirror, and it doesn't tilt when i reverse. is there any other way to tell if my car has power folding or not? i also try to hold the lock button. its closes all the window.

no button = no autofold (unless did the mirrors and coding yourself)

@535xeye - I have the 2010 535i xdrive also. How do you set the mirrors to auto fold in on locking the car? Currently I have to push the button on the door. (forgive me if this has already been covered - New to forum and New BMW owner.)
thanks!

You have to code it to the car. The re-programming require special cable and software.

I have this and have to push the button for them to close, and they will open when you start to drive.

I have them as well, 2009 530i Europe.

I have coded the "remotely folding" so I can fold them with button in my door, or by holding lock button on remote. With opening by remote they unfold automatically. It's in the KGM module and sounds like "BEIKLAPPEN..."

More on coding and details about this mod can be found here: It's probably gonna cost you a lot of time, but all info you've ever wanted is in this topic: NCSExpert Code Mods - 5Series.net - Forums (my are on page 55 post #550)

Enjoy!

Auto folding is done by the button on the window panel. You can code the mirrors to fold with the key fob but you are still in control. I imagine this is a safety feature in case your mirrors are iced? I guess if they are you wouldn't want to be folding and damage a motor... The tilt on the passenger mirror for the curbs if you have option only works when the mirror select switch is in the driver position. Then is tilts down to let you see the curb. If the mirror select switch is in passenger position, then the mirror remains in the normal position. I understand this was a LCI feature but not 100% sure.
