I can.

Wait, do you live in the Netherlands? I think that's why your engine is smoother, because the fuel in Europe is of much better quality.

how many of you experienced rough idle (slight vibration when car idles) on 545i or any other n62 engine?

I did some research and there is no certain fix to this. people switched spark plugs, adjusted walve lifters, used different gas, cleaned MAF, used fuel system cleaners, throttle cleaners, changed coils, airfilters, etc..

would be great if we can collect different opinions here and may be find the right answer. thank you

here is the link: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=73179&st=15

the guy (saying about 545i on second page) says: "With a V-8 these cars are brutes, yet idle so smoothly that you don't know they are running unless you look at the tach."
My 545i has 70,000 KM's and still idles smooth and very quiet. I use Premium Unleaded 98 fuel & Fully synthetic Castrol oil.

I dropped off my car this morning at the dealership and printed them the SIB for the rough idle. My service advisor said if there is no check engine light on they might not cover it under warranty, but i had them check it out anyways.
Since it might not be a warranty issue, the price for diagnostic is $140.00.

Also had them try to find out where my rattling noise is coming from, at the driver side panel another $140.00

Total $280 to see if they can find out the rough idle , and possible attempt to fix my rattle. I'm a bit anal about the small things i think there might not be a problem with the idling but the rattling it happens when i drive on rough road conditions hopefully they are able to find out where its coming from. Keep you guys updated about the Rough idle issue, with the SIB that i gave to my SA.

Update, my SA called, the rattle is from the turn switch, and its' $400.00 to replace. The idle problem they hooked it up to the computer and the idle is within specs. They will keep my car till tomorrow to see if the idle goes above or below the specs if not they will consider it normal. If it is out of specs they will do the repairs according to the SIB. Waiting for a cold start tomorrow morning to see if there are any inconsistency. They are pretty thorough with the diagnostic that sounds very good.

Ivan, let us know if they fixed it..

i'm coming to the conclusion so far that occasional rough idle (slight one) is normal for this engines..

btw. i cleaned my MAF. it was clean to start with, so no major change

You know why it doesn't work. It's because it's a fucking BMW. BMW are overpriced pieces of shit. I can't believe people actually buy them and try to beat actual fast cars. Like a Supra stock is 1mph faster than the 545i which cost 70,000 dollars. While the Supra was made in 1996 and is usually 19,000 dollars. Without ther limiter of course.
Yup. I totally agree. I mean, except on the first bit, and the second bit.. and on your main point.....

it's a freakin supra.

A VW bug is faster than a 550... when dropped from a helicopter. VW > BMW!!! Z0mg!
