They are still liable. Disc Tire is a very customer oriented organization. They are honest, and people know it. Personally, I have purchased over 50 tires from them in past few years--for family and friends cars. I used to be a big Sam's Club fan, but Disc Tire converted me. I get tons of free rotations and balances, and they get tons of free ice cream, cokes, tacos, etc.
In many states, a company does not have to charge you to become liable. The fact that a company or person works on your item or car means that they implicitly say that they know what they are doing. Some states have killed the liability by creating a "good Samaritan law."
