I was washing the car today, I sprayed it down with water hood/windshield and began to wash the front. Upon getting closer to the front grill I here a noise comming from the inside, like a dog whistle. The car was off and locked, I started the car and turned it off the noise went away. What was this noise, anyone else have this. ?

What model do you have?
On my 545 have a simialr sound and it comes from a vacume pump attached to the from of the passenger side head.

My Ride: 2005 545i, Black on black. 6spd MT, Nav, sports package.
I hear a noise in the dash when i shut off the car.. Sounds like something spinning.. like a hard drive or a little fan. Can't figure out what it is.

I also hear the dash noises...I know in my other car and truck the noise I hear is the cd continuing to spin after the ignition is shut off...I wonder if it is the same? The other noise I hear from the exterior is not like a dog whistle but a ratcheting grind - it's rather loud! I noticed it started happening only when I had the computer upgraded.
