... having max air in your tire to help stop rim Pot Hole Dents? A Local E-Tech mechanic said its Forged or keep the wheels fully inflated to help with Pot Holes. My door rail say something like 32 lbs for 17 x 225 x 50s at Front, but I am sure 19s take more air. Since my Potenza 960s say 50 max psi ; I put 40 in front and 44 at rear. What do you think?
Go with the full load psi noted on the driver door jamb & you can always go up a pound or two. But try not to exceed the MAX PSI stamped on the tire - it is the TIRE manufacturer's (recommended) max inflation.

Inflation pressure and load ratings vary by tire, tire manufacturer, and tire size. If you're lucky, your low profile tires won't be attracted to potholes!

The recommended PSI for 19's is in the owners manual. Yes, going with a higher pressure than recommended will help for pothole insurance.

Running 40 psi up front and 42 psi at rears seems to be a bit hard of a ride for my 530 xi. I do want to save the wheels which I think are soft aluminum AR2 ASA 19s. Other words they are not forged. I am going to try 38 up front and 40 at the rears. The Potenza Bridgestone 960 tires say 50 psi whatever that means.
Are the V8 motor 545 and 550s heavier of a car? Maybe it is not that much of a difference compared to a I6 at the front end weight. Some how 40 front and 42 rear seems to be a tad much.

...

Maybe CW has a point about over inflation and over wearing the centers of the tires.

..

Glad I got the 2 year Insurance policy to replace the wheels or tires no questions asked deal. Its always fun to go in as early as possible to the dealership and muse while I get new stuff done. Especially nice when they say "Would you like to have a 2009 loaner"

...

Ahhhhh "Yes I do!"
