I was just curious if there are any members out there who are single and have a 5 series. I see a lot of posts where the 5 was chosen over a 3 due to needing more room for spouse, children, clients, etc.
I am alone in my car 90% of the time, mostly for just a 10 mile drive to work. The 3 series obviously has enough room for one person, and would likely handle better in the twisties... but there is just that special "something" about the 5 everytime I see one on the road (which is less frequent than a 3).
I know it is a matter of personal preference, and one needs to drive both... but I was just curious how many non-married types out there opted for the 5.

32 Single, looked at the 3 but did't really feel comfey loved the feel of th 5, plus the thickness of the steering wheel (maybe because of heated??) but I just felt more at home, and I was kind of hitting my leg.. maybe it was in my head or maybe I just wanted the 5??? but I would do it again in a heart beat...

45 and got my self a 545
2 kids and wife.
Chose it for its performance and 'presence'. There are too many 3 series in Toronto... more than Accords or Camrys ! And the M3 is too hard-edge for me for daily use. And I was too impatient to wait for the SLK55 AMG. Roominess was not a deciding factor as there's the wifemobile.

My Ride: '05 545i - scheduled for ED pickup in Munich on 7/22!

I'm single. Had a E36 328is a few years ago and didn't want another 3 Series. Considered the M3 though. I went with the 545 because its a wolf-in-sheep's-clothing. Looks like a family sedan, but can still blow away most cars in a straight line and in the twisties. I also have a Boxster so definately wanted something a bit more low key.
I'm also sharing the 545 with my sister who lives across the street from me though. She has a kid but complains that the 545 isn't sporty enough for her! Go figure...
