Just curious if anyone has heard anything. With the gas crunch, it would make sense. I know the Hydrogen model is planned for later this decade, but I am not old enough for the 7 yet. Would definitely be nice.

It must be on their minds. For one thing, Mercedes is trying again with their E-class diesels- and getting some good press. You can almost see the lights going off above the magazine hack's head as they realize that newer diesels are nothing like the old crocks of sh!t you still see running round here from time to time (v. old Benzes mainly). Trouble even the new Benz diesels are not certified for California, which I understand is partly down to fuel - we don't get the low sulfur diesel here yet so even the newest Benz oil burners don't yet pass the particulates tests. If enough customers ask for them we may see them - who knows........ I would definitely consider a 535d over all current gas engined E60's except my 545
