Im between the new coming GS350 and 535 twin turbo(not sure if BMW going for it just yet). I really prefer the BMW over the Lexus due to driver enjoyment. Most likely im going with sport package and manual tranny on the 535. It would be awsome to have a strong down low TQ and midrange from the turbos for a every day car. The lexus on the other hand is a different animal... Its smooth and quiet and sometimes boring, but it gets the job done for an every day car. It will most likely have 310-315HP on tap too so it is by no means a slow car.

So my question is... Is BMW going to put the new coupe 335 engine (300HP 300TQ) into the 5 series and call it 535? I wish they do because i really want a manual, spacious 4 door, safe, comfortable, luxurious, fun, and turbocharged to give me a wide powerband for a daily driver and the 535 fits what i want exactly.

The new engine N54B35 has 225 kW and a 400 Nm torgue from 1500 rpm to 5000!

The big question is will the E60 be facelifted this fall or not. I say NO!

The E60 will be facelifted in September '07 and then the new N54B35 will replace the 540i.
Also the 550i will be stonger and new diesels will be introduced.

Please fill in your whereabouts!

Does 225kw= 300HP? and 400nm= 300TQ?

I thought the new gas 3.0 Twin turbo engine is going to replace the current N/A engine in the 530 like it did with the 3 series. The 550i will remain the same. Do you have any pics for the face lift on the 5 series?

225 kW (Kilowats) is 301.7 hp.

I'm not that familiar with your strange (old and stupid measurements)
but the 540i has a torgue of 390 Nm from 3500 rpm's.
(Do the calculations yourself).

The new 530i will have + 270 hp and the 550i will have some + 380 hp's.
Just updated engines.

Also a new M3 V8 engine will be offered with about + 400 hp's.

As I said, the E60 facelift will not occure before Sept '07.

If they call the twin turbo 3l d the 535d why not call the twin turbo petrol 3lmodel the 535i as per the 3 series philosophy?

It will be named and called 535i and that's for sure!

Remember, the new twin-turbo E92 is a 335Ci!

The twin-turbo DIESEL is a 535d!

Both engines are six-in-line 3.0 litre twin-turbos.

Come on now guys...
