2005 530i Sport 120k miles.
Water pump changed at 30k when I bought the car.
Head unit at 40k
Secondary air pump, replaced at 55k and again at 95k
Belts, fuel filter at 75k
Intake manifold gasket, oil filter housing gasket, lower control arms 95k
Complete suspension overhaul, CCV, plugs, coils, battery, at 120k.
Have new radiator, overflow tank, hoses, thermostat, belts, fuel filter, pulleys, tensioners and VANOS unit to be done when I get around to it.
Any members here with high mileage E60s or does everyone tend to bail before their car hits 100k?
Hi, i am new to this forum! I recently bought a 2004 e60 530i for a really cheap price clocked at 260k kms..... First i was skeptical about motor but once I took a test drive, seemed smooth amd quite to me. Should I be worried about anything??😫

hopefully you received service records or some or some of its history, that being said the in line 6 bmw engine is the most reliable of the fleet, I would suggest doing the fluid changes and keep that up regularly.

Welcone to the club! I have about 155k miles on my 2008 528xi. Great motor as long as you take care of it. Make sure you don't have any oil leaks. Common leak would be a bad valve cover gasket. I had mine replaced along with a new valve cover (since they're plastic) and eccentric sensor gasket. Also had the coolant hoses replaced, especially the one that goes from the pump to the head... yup, the connectors are plastic too. I would also recommend changing the filter and flushing your transmission fluid too. Planning to do mine since it's been about 80k since it was documented changed last. New coils too if she starts to run a lil rough.

Unfortunately didn't get any service records but last owner said verbally about everything has been diagnosed under the hood and nothing to worry for at least 3 months. But turned out, 1: Starter fried in few days 2: Something keeps draining my new battery overnight that I put by myself. Could be IBS ...I Dont know yet. Looking up to it. 3: Needs Alignment 4: idrive is working but no Sound in the Car . Getting SOS error lights and 5 airbags restraint system error.
Honestly not happy about keeping this car, its like a timebomb. You never know when its not gonna start in the morning and oh in my city its gonna get -24 soon so I'm planning to downsize.
Hello -
2006 530xiT - 189.200 and a 2008 535xi - 226,010
Both run great - neither have been to a repair shop since purchase. We got the 535xi first - 6 years or so ago. I am a decent shade-tree mechanic, tho.
2008 535i, 6-speed manual tranny. 176,000 miles. Plenty of issues...in order of replacement: oil cooler, HPFP, turbos, plugs, rear & front glass moldings, coils, gaskets water pump, injectors, front brakes, belts. Original rear brakes, and clutch. Car runs great, interior like new, love the car!
My 545i just broke the 200.000 mile mark. Same tranny same engine.
Congratulations, no doubt that took some work. I think hi mileage with the V8 is more of a challenge than with the sixes. We have had 5 of the sixes and one V8 and our 550 has been more problematic than the sixes. Is it fair to guess that you have done the water pipe, the valve stem seals (including cam cover gaskets et al) the alternator mount gasket, the starter and an alternator? The alternator mount gaskets, the starter and alternator on the V8 are each huge jobs. But the most time intensive is the VSS chore. Do tell...
