Comfort Access is one of the things that I am most looking forward to on my new car. I have two young kids and am always loaded down with stuff. I think CA will improve my life immensely.

I should have gotten it. My one big mistake with the E60. That said, the 360 hp and deft handling capabilities of my E60 have improved my driving ability immensely. Importantly, suicide now its completely out of the question.

so my dear experts - if the battery in the fob is dead , the CA does not work - obvious. so you take the key out of hte fob to open the car. pressing the start button does not work because the fob's battery is dead, so you insert the key back into the fob and push the fob in it's slot. Should the car start if you pressed the start button?

Background to my question: i got 3 keys from the dealer for my car - it seems that only one works with CA, the ohter one does not work, but the key in that fob is right. however, if i insert the fob and key in the slot, the car rejects the fob. So, is this because the battery might be down or the dealer gave me the wrong fob???

greetinz..
...so no one here able to help me with my problem...

Actually, I can top that. It's so convenient that occasionally I get to the car, grip the handle and wonder why it doesn't open. I guess it's because I don't have the comfort access implant in my arm yet - I left the key upstair.
You aren't alone, Jonathan. I do this almost every morning, leaving the keys in the kitchen drawer.

Slightly off topic, Is it just me, or are the shifters a bit counter-intuitive.....push forward to reverse & pull back to drive forward
I agree, It should have been reverse, Push forward shold have been designed to drive and push backward should be for reversie

If you leave all of your windows down, you can put them all up using CA, just touch where you would to lock the car, but leave your finger there and it will lock and then it will roll your windows up.

Speaking of cool CA features, here's one I don't remember anyone mentioning. A couple weeks ago, it was extremely hot and humid outside so running the A/C was something you had to do to keep the car bearable. I was out running errands that caused me to repeatedly get out of the car for just minutes at a time. I learned that you can leave the engine running but still lock the car with the fob if you choose to do so. Without CA, I don't think you could lock the car from the outside with the engine running. This feature should come in handy in the winter as well when warming the car up outside my office, etc.
Actually, you can do this with non-CA cars. Not sure if this is the correct procedure but I've done it a few times, start the car, stop the car, remove the key fob, then start the car again (has to be done within X seconds, I'd guess 30) and voila the car is running and the key fob is in your hand. Now you're free to get out and lock the car and leave it running.
