Rudy,

Just a cautionary thought... if someone broke the window on your car, could they get in and drive it away? I presume the door would be deadlocked by locking the car with the fob, so the doorhandle on the inside would not work, but would the door unlock button on the dash?

Over on this side of the water, insurance companies may refuse to pay out if your car was stolen whilst left with the engine running in this way, as they could argue that it was not properly secured and shut down. But then, if you are only a few feet away from the car and are in a nice area is it going to be an issue?

What do you all think?
I agree that the behavior is risky -- certainly someone could smash the window and take the car (if they could figure out how to get the SAT out of park, that is!) I don't do it very often and if/when I do, it's usually in a nice area as you suggested. I doubt I'd do it where I didn't feel the car was safe, etc. On pre-comfort access cars, I never carried both keys with me so doing this wasn't as practical...

Slightly off topic, Is it just me, or are the shifters a bit counter-intuitive.....push forward to reverse & pull back to drive forward

Not at all -- I know he agrees with you about the shifter and I think he's pretty passionate about it...

Along the same lines: On the steering wheel buttons..push the up arrow to go down on the sirius radio channel dial and down to go up!

Are you sure?? I don't have it on my E60, but we do have it on the Wife's E91. On the E91 there is a replaceable battery in the fob, it is NOT rechargeable
Yes your correct it's the same on the E60 my statement was incorrect. CA key battery is non-rechargable.
