Amber lights

Hi all,
I bought my 2007 550 in May of last year and it is a great car but I am having a little problem with my interior amber curtsey lights on the steering-wheel,door handles and the ones next to the map lights only work when the doom light is on. I took the car to the service center and they diagnosed the problem as being a bad module. What do you think? HELP!!
