If you have a wiring issue I would address it then troubleshoot the alarm/trunk issue.

I meant 1 second. If I hold it for three seconds, the panic alarm sounds but the trunk does not open.

I got off work and used my regular key fob to pop the trunk and it opened but a few seconds later the alarm sounded.

When I got home, I then tried my spare key fob and it opened the trunk and no alarm.

Wait for it.... I then tried my regular key again and the trunk popped and no alarm. I then tried the regular key a few more times and no alarm. I then disabled and reenabled the alarm. Popped the trunk with the regular key and no alarm.

That wiring loom issue is known but I have not fixed it yet because the harness is $420. The only thing its been causing is the right license plate light doesn't work. But I am assuming it could be related because it looks like it runs to the trunk latch also. Who knows?

Also, that wiring loom issue is intermittent and so is my trunk alarm. Hmm.

I wouldn't purchase a new one. I would loosen it up to the damaged portion and fix it with some solder and heat shrink. It's only wire.

Yeah I've seen lots of guys online do that but I'm just not feeling it. That wire is probably very brittle as I have heard. I just don't feel like messing with it even though I have been in electronics since I was 11 years old and soldering would be child's play.

Ok I'll stop being such a lazy ass and go fix the loom soon.
