The new six-cylinder engine incorporates DSC+ which adds five features to the standard DSC: Brake Standby, Rain Brake Support, Hill Start Assist, Fading Compensation and Soft Stop.11

I cant find any official BMW reference to this.
I have tried with DSC on & off & I cant detect any soft stop working. (Not that I need soft stop but if I could feel it working I would know I had the other DSC+ features).

Iceman, you were pretty certain about DSC+ being included from March 05 production.
What was your source?.

Don't you have to depress the DTC button once to switch from DSC to DTC?

Yes but these features should be available during normal DSC active or enabled mode, not DTC mode.

I actually went to the dealer yesterday to check on their parts system if anything changed, but only got time to post it now (sorry)

According to the parts system the current DSC unit used in the 545i and the R6 engines 530i has been in use since September 2004, a new DSC unit is scheduled for September 2005

I would think that DSC+ needs a new unit, so am guessing its only in the 5 Series from September

On the new 3 Series you can feel the hill assist on a manual, but I forgot to check for the soft stop when I drove it, maybe a good excuse for another test drive

All week 9 build models had the features you mention, however I have not yet detected soft stop. The brakes are bloody good though.

Nope!

According to the e60 manual, climb assist brake (hill start assist) is only available for the 4 wheels drive models (525ix, 530ix), ie. vehicles equipped with the HDC (Hill Descent Control). I don't know about the rest of DSC+ functions (emergency breaking, rain preparation, stop comfort, fading comp) I have not seen any difference when breaking to full stop, so I tend to think stop comfort is not present.

I can't guess about rain prep, emergency breaking and fading comp.
