I would sooner put a loaded gun in my 22 year old son's hand than buy him a car as fast as mine.

Perhaps there should be a poll of how old do you actually feel

A lot of truth in the comments about affordability in the different markets.

I'll be 38 in October. Bought my 530d when it was 14 months old (and had lost 30% of its value) and it was a little push on the wallet.

when i bought my car there was on this site in the info section a BMW n/a assesment of the type of people that buy various brands. I think Jag S type was bought typically by 58 year old females, where late 40s males bought 5 series.

Im in the UK and im 49. I suspect there are very few private owners of this $55k automobile (starting point) in the uk in their 20s or below. Not just for the fact it would be expensive to insure!

As someone in the "over 40" crowd that has been able to take full advantage of American capitalism (something that I'm quite proud of), I wonder whether those of you who are 25 and younger have had help buying/leasing your cars or whether you are simply more successful than I was at that age. At 25, I was driving a Subaru hatchback!

btw, I'm not inferring any offense and I don't mean to pry into anyone's personal situation. I'm just curious.
