As seen from my signature, I have a 525i/'04 Stepronic engine type M54. I went to my dealer to change out brake pads, oil, filters etc. Everything went ok, but the mechanic told me that I'm having a small problem with my engine, more exactly the Adjuster Unit on the Intake Manifold (part 7 from picture). He told me that this unit is noisy and need to be replaced soon if I don't want to have problems later. The noise it seemed like an usual injector noise (tic-tic-tic), so nothing weird to me.
Did any of you encountered this problem? Should I get another experienced opinion?

 

Does anybody know what part no. 7 does?
