Does anyone know if there is a reason the owner's manual says not to add oil until it is BELOW the lower line (as opposed to adding when it starts to get below mid level)??
Thanks in advance,
Thanks in advance,

I believe it is because there is a real danger that you could overfill it.
Also, I thought that it says to wait until the warning message appears - indicating 1 qt. low.

I agree, i think they figure that you would pour the entire quart in. Maybe the indicator is not accurate within a quart and if it shows 1/2 quart low it may only be a tenth of a quart low, so you end up pouring 1/2 quart in and it overfills and then the extra oil get whipped up in the crankcase. Ouch. Bubbles not good.
