My Ride: 2004 520i, mystic blue, steptronic, beige leather, pdc, bluetooth, rain sensor, BMW sport kit fitted, 18" 166 rep BMW rims , de-badged, cherished reg. chrome grill,
When I switch on my headlights they move upwards is this adaptive

IT IS A SELF LEVELING FEATURE, NOT ADAPTIVE.

No, it isn't. My 3 series did that too and it was not even self leveling like the xeons. It is the mechanism to adjust the lights level that can be manual or self leveling (usually standard for xeon lights).
Adaptatives turn left or right according to your wheel movement and car speed. Very nice features for mountain roads!

Yes, I was in the Blue Ridge Mountains over Thanksgiving weekend and REALLY liked the fact that the lights followed the curve to the right going around those corners. It was very noticable and helpful.

First "Bumwa" was a new 1971 2002. High performance 5s since 1987. Beamer motorcycles too, currently on an 07 BMW K1200 GT; also a Moto Guzzi 1000 SP III.
