My active steering acted up a couple of days ago while I was driving to work - it just decided to malfunction for no reason... the first thing that went through my head was - "Hope this goes away by the time I drive home!". Lo and behold, the system had reset while I was at work.
You see it in car mags all the time -- "all this high tech components will make it impossible/expensive to repair when problems arise"... I used to ignore these comments but now that my car is out of warranty -- I am coming around to their way of thinking!
Also, as an old-timer (2004 E60 530i ZSP with the bulletproof M54 225hp inline-6), I feel I can no longer relate to owners of newer 535i and 550i models.. hence the lack of posts (not that I posted a lot).

Hey, post away! Nothing shabby about your ride. My son and his wife are still driving my first bimmer, an 1984 E28 533i. Runs like a top and looks perfect, too (never in a car wash).
