active steering malfuntion

active steering light coming on on start up,turn the car off start again and the wheel centers itself a little then light goes off.power steering fluid is at good levels,no leaks,anyone ran into this before?from threads ive read it was never really figured out at the dealership for some people.just simple fluid check or reset of light and people still having the same issue after that..any info would be great thanks guys.

Had the same problem and went to the dealer to have it checked out last week. They removed the air bag from the steering wheel and also removed the steering wheel to check the wiring and preformed many different test and updated the software.No problems so far.

Well mine isn't as often but when it does happen I just reset the Active Steering

it happens to me after I washed my car.
Went to the dealer, and they coulnd't find any problem with Active Steering.

So much technology I think it just randomly acts up like anything other electronics in this world lol

It could be a reinitializing problem stemming from a weak battery or moisture shorting out the module.

The module is in the right footwell attached to the floor pan and protected by a kick plate. To reinitialize the system, try disconnecting the battery for a few hours.
