I just posted about this...

My message is saying to just re-initialize the system. I tried it many times per the manual instructions, but its not resetting.

had the same issue minus the turn signal issues.

1. Turning sterring full to the left and right and switching engine off/on- did not work
2. Resetted the ECU and reprogrammed-did not work
2. Found leakage on battery- chaged battery and checked again- still did not work
3. Found active steering module failure- Apparently there was a recall on this. Mentioned by the dealer. Been 3 months now and no reoccurance.

Hope this helps....

any chance someone have the bulletin on this?? or more information on it??

thanks

Hey guys I got this same issue second time now and I'm wondering if someone might have this bulletin so I can take to dealer they thought they fixed it last time but that only lasted about 1 month.

@ 50,500 your dealer should take care of you ... unless your relationship with your SA hasn't been too good.

I had active steering malfunction alert come on few weeks ago. It looked like it would come on when I was making a sharp turn and then reset once the car was restarted. Called dealer and they said most likely it is low on fluid. Made an appointment and drop the car for yearly (low-miles) oil change and for them to check this alert out. When I picked up the car, I was told that they topped off the fluid and all is okay now. However, after driving the car for few minutes I notice a grounding sound (like what the hydraulic pump makes when it is low on fluid) took the car back for them to check again. They kept the car for few days and when I went to pick it up, I was told that one the hose on front active-stabilizer system was leaking and somehow the hydraulic pump went bad. So they end up replacing the pump plus all the hoses. The problem is gone now and I am so happy this happened 2 miles before my warranty runs out.

I bought my car new and had it for 40 months now and that is the only mechanical problem I have had with the car.

I did not experience any problems with the turn signal light.

good luck,

My trusting ride has developed a Active Steering malufunction. The active steering is now not working and the turn signals don't auto cancel. Has anyone ever had this problem before or have a good price estimate. I know the answer is go to the dealership, but the message says to adjust my driving habits to conpensate, so I'm viewing it as "I can wait to the next service visit" to address the issue. I'm a little afraid of the potential drain on my bank account.
Hi,
I had the same message. I got my car at 50,670k and now have 53k on it. The message came on and then never reappeared but immediately following we had new tires put on and had the alignment done at the same time. The old tires were so badly cupped that I couldn't stand to drive it and so I wondered if maybe that somehow caused the malfunction message to appear. Good luck!
