True, I get out of my car and drive my wife's current model VW Golf and it feels like a truck in comparison. You have to turn the wheel so much further to negotiate roundabouts and normal around town driving compared to the AS E60. Once on the open road I wouldn't mind a bit more weight to it though.
I would not be without AS and would recommend it.

My Ride: 2007 525i (not LCI) - Alpine white, M sport package, Comfort seats, Logic 7, Bluetooth, Xenon adaptive headlights, PDC, sunroof, A/C with extended features, etc.
I have AS on my e60, and while i really like it and it does make driving fun n easy, i wouldnt say i cant live without it...i drove my friends e60 which did not have active steering and the steering was not stiff at all...yes i had to turn the wheel more on turnings but it was still fun...well why wouldnt it be lol??..its a BMW..

I have servotronic which makes it softer to turn in low speed and gets firmer in high speed, but I love AS and it will be on my list of options in my next car.....
