Could someone please explain some of the acronyms that I?ve seen here?
CCC, TIS, CIP,

I?m taking my 05 545i in for oil and filter change (unscheduled). They will also update the software to 17.1 (because of the radio staying on after the key is removed).
I don?t know what version I?m currently on but I hope that the new version doesn?t introduce any other problems. Is there anything I should be aware of before I take her in?

CCC = Car Communication Computer (cars with pro nav, 2 slots)
M-ASK = Multi Audio System Controller( cars with business nav or no nav, 1 slot )

TIS = Technical Information System

CIP = Coding Individualization and Programming

CCC and M-ASK are the names of the radio system on the car

TIS is a software programe BMW techs use to see how to fix parts of the car

CIP is the DVD or software download dealerships get from BMW with new software for all BMW models

This info should go to the FAQ.
