Whats up Anzafin I have a similar problem I need help with
I am removing my engine and trans from the car. All my engine sensors have been removed, valve covers off etc. the starter is still hooked up, the battery leads going to the terminal block under the hood are still connected, Before I started the tear down I disconnected the negative battery cable and secured it in the trunk and left the positive on the battery. I closed the trunk and now my key will not let me back in the trunk. If i put a jump box under the hood and connect to the positive terminal and ground the other cable, will this allow me to use my remote control to open the trunk??? and MOST IMPORTANT!!!!! WILL I DAMAGE ANYTHING BY DOING THIS??? I just need it on long enough to open the trunk and unlock the two passenger doors. SO DO YOU THINK THIS WILL HURT ANYTHING??

^ don't know if that will hurt anything

what I can suggest is using the mechanical key - if you have an M5 then you'd need to remove the trunk finisher (2 screws IIRC) to access the keyhole on the back right of the trunk to insert your key into it
