Got a call back from SA and he said that BMW NA said that there is special procedure to reset the motor and that the problem is because of the 'tint' on the window. My SA said before he could replace the motor I would have to remove the tint to see if the problem is still occuring
I think im going to let them reset the motor and see what happens. The Fault goes away after I turn off/on the car and only happens every so often...

It happened to me with the drivers door window but when I performed the following procedure the problem went away

Anti trap function problem solution

1. turn your key to position ONE
2. open window by depressing the key yourself (dont use auto function)
3. wait 5-10 secs
4. close window by depressing the key yourself (dont use auto function)
5. wait 5- 10 secs
6. repeat steps 2-4
7. should solve the problem (resetting the motors)

I've had this problem on my rear window since day 1 also. I bought my car just April 2, 2005 at Weatherford BMW in Berkeley, CA. But I can't seem to let my car go for a second. But I have too now cuz my Oil Change is due. So i guess I might as well turn it in for the Anti-trap malfunction.

The ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE - but they just can't seem to set such a minor thing right.

Kyriacos,

This is to confirm your anti trap function problem solution quoted above. I have succesfully done that for a couple of times now. Everytime, the problem had apparently appeared following the use of the car key to close/open windows after closing/opening doors. After resetting the motors in the way you say, every window works fine.
