I have a december 2007 production car but I dont have nav and most certainly I dont need it as the car is in a country where there arent any compatible maps. thing is that I want to see videos in the car (possibly trough dension 500) and was wondering if I could use the a 8.8 screen that I bought without the blank space on the screen. anyone succeded in doing so?

Good Question... How much did you pay for your 8.8" screen? did you buy it off of eBay?

I have always wondered if I could upgrade my screen to the wider 8.8", without changing out my CCC or upgrading to NAV.

around 400 bucks, you can but theres the blank space to consider... I suppose anyone shouldve come out with a reprogramming or something to take care of this but Im clueless.

Interesting. I wouldnt mind the larger screen just for aesthetics alone lol

I know the M-ASK is made to optimize that screen it's paired with, but maybe the resolution can be coded.

If the screen gets filled and the resolution isn't changed, everything will look very stretched.

someone posted in another thread that the videos would play filling the whole screen, is the menu screen the one that leaves a gap, weird isnt it?

You can put the bigger screen in and it will work, however, the size of the display will not increase and the image will be shifted to the left leaving the same amount of blank space.

I have tried this before. The image gets shifted down by a few pixels and alligned to the left with the right side of the screen filled in with whatever background there is.

My modmynav kits works beautifully in the wide-screen.
