Shame on you for making such a generalization about sport bike riders That's not true at all!! I ride with many sport bike riders who are very safe and sane...after all the AUTOS are the ones who kill us...not each other  Many of us take riding school and track days just so we can be safer and AVIOD "stupid" moves by auto drivers...ever head of riding in "the pace"....sheesh, you should know you facts before stating biased things like that...you are only helping to perpetuate the myth that sportbikes "crotchrockets" are nothing but death!!

S4 was saying that 99% of bikers do not know how to use the maximum performance out of their bike. Just like how 99% of the people on the road do not know how to use the max potential performance of a BMW. But percentage wise there are more people who can get more performance out of a car than a bike.

S4 wasnt saying Bikers are the ones that kill themselves... its not. I agree its all the dumb ass auto drivers out there that kill not even the ones who race... just those that plain cant drive and shouldnt even be given a license.

Thanks...and sorry to be so "reactive" just that we (sportbike riders) have been getting such a "bum rap" for so long - I have to try and "open folks perspective" whenever I can...thanks for the reality check - you are the voice of reason

I frequent this section of the freeway to and from work for years now; the freeway is not straight from the second traffic light; it curved to the left a bit and inclines to become an overpass and begins to curve back to the right. This "boony" section of the freeway is not lit at all for miles.
What freeway is this?

Interesting. I agree that it is impossible to stay with a bike at lower speeds but as long as I manage to not lose them completely below 100 mph, I usually catch up and pass them at around 130-140 mph. I know nothing about bikes; I play with those that are willing to play. I would describe them as typical bikes with typical bikers riding them. Once I noticed that the bike had 2 riders with a female in the back and immediately stop racing. Did not want to get them into any trouble.

dont get me wrong, I tracked and raced em in the past, and only recently got out of the sport. I know plenty of people that track their bikes and can not control a 600/1000cc sport bike 100% even on the straight away...that is where I base my opinions, and im def not oblivious to the many safe and controlled riders. Unfortunately there are too many poor riders that give all of us a bad image.

Quit dreaming. I'll suck you up and blow you away...in third gear, with a second rider up on the pillion. . . .
OK, I'll quit dreaming. How low should I pull my pants down for this job?

Just kidding, Ray, I'm sure that 1200 GT will make the 545i look like an 08 stock M3 against a Bugatti 16.4. Enjoy the bike.

Very true
From what my brother says (he works in traffic management), bike riders tend to run from the police more often in the night than auto drivers. For whatever reason, he/she thinks he/she can get away from the cop chasing him/her not knowing that backups are already in front of him/her. In any case, those types of riders do make the general bike riders look back.

For one, I'd ride a bike if I can trust the person in the next lane. Unfortunately, I don't. Just because I can zoom away from most car in a heartbeat doesn't mean I want to instigate or provoke an auto driver, especially the one that drives a silver gray 545i in Houston.
