mobile.de and you get unfall bmw without knowing it.

650i is more than a match for any porsche carrera auto in a straight line. And i only do straight line

i went to see the porsche with the sports kit in the show room, went for a drive in another porshce, and although i was seriously considering buying one... its not worth the extra 40000euro over the 6.

no probs. And i can vouch that even a 350bhp 535d has no , and i mean no chance
against an m3 smg... unless hes wheels were useless, and he couldnt do a proper launch control

Hmm............!

The same Top Gear Power Lap gives M3 the exact time as the 535d, 1:31:8. Please note as well thatthe 535d was a stock car with "only" 272 BHP. Both cars has been driven by the same person on the same track!

Rest my case,
Wlodek

I'm pretty sure they were different drivers and very different track conditions (M3 was in the wet). Either way it's a good time.

The M3 was in the dry with the black stig and the 535d was with the white stig also in the dry ,

it was the M3CSL that was in the wet

you rest your case on what genius? on one single test track, and two tests done at different times different conditions and different drivers.

Why dont you show me the 535d being quicker on monza, the ring, brands hatch even.

Its an ///m car, it has nothing to do with a normal run of the mill bmw, let alone a diesel

I suppose that kind of posts make you feel better, they help your self esteem... believeing that you wont get rap*d by an m3 in your diesel?

on top of everything else the m3 costs more

Oh and By the way check this http://www.bmw.com/generic/de/de/products/...05VTbmw535d.pdf

1) its on a bmw site, so its legitimate.
2) its a test conducted by a well respected german magazine, so its legitimate.
3) I rest my case on the above

The 535d accelerates from 0-100km *0-62mph* in 7.1s !!!!!!!!!!!!!

and you tell me it will keep time with an m3 ? which does 0-100km in 5s???

You've said yourself in other posts that the BMW official acceleration times are conservative. Well BMW states the 0-60 for the 535d as 6.5 secs.

http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/pricesandspecif...t-bmwuk,00.html

Maybe the guy testing for the magazine was really really fat ??? (or had a broken watch)

Regardless 0-60 times are for straight line performance only. On a track you only go from 0-60 once The rest of the time is about torque curves, gearing, weight, handling, grip and driver ability.

I've seen a dozen videos on this very forum where 535 does 0-60 in well under 6. A test I managed to dig out, confirms this. Seven seconds is just not serious. Seems to me you shouldnt have sold the M3 now your X5 would be an easy meal for even a granny-driven 535 .
