Thumbs up

Please can anybody inform me on the exterior difference that maybe will be there between the 545i and the 530i.

The former 5 series had no differences on the outside, but the current 3 series has (double exhaustpipes, chrome kidneys etc.).

Hope to hear from you...

There has been no spy shots or official pictures of the 545i. But it is unlikely that 545i would have two exhaustpipes, which is usually reserved for M5. From reading the new 5 Series order guide, the only thing that is standard on 545i 6-speed but optional on other 5s is Shadowline exterior trim in the sport package. Everything else will be the same. There is no mention of a body kit for the sport package or 545i.

One more thing, if you look through the wheels, 545i has larger disc brakes than 530i and 525i. Larger brakes is not an option for 525i and 530i. But this would be a very subtle difference. Maybe this is the only way to tell between a 545i 6-speed and a 530i with sport package.

Here are some 545i pictures from the new German sales brochure:

So, apparently no big exterior differences.

According to the german brochure the only exterior difference other than the wheels between 545i and 530i is that the kindneys on the 545i has cromed slants.

Another thing I noticed that was different, look at the exhaust tip diameters...the 530 's are smaller

A hearty congratulations to you sir!

You hold the record (at least from my personal experience) for posting to an old thread.
Nearly 11 years.

Wow!

So 2003. So there really are those that still don't know the difference between a 545 and 530, hence this search.
