Are the 545i sport-package front and rear wheels 8.5" and 10" wide, respectively? Thanks much.

Thanks much.

Next questions. Are 275/35-18's too wide for 18 X 8.5 wheels? Do 18 X 10 wheels work on the rear of the 545i with 275/35-18's.

[/quote]Thanks to all above for the input. My goal is good looks and significant weight savings (both are necessary conditions). I am thinking of BBS RGR's (8's F and 10's R) and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's. This combo yields about a 125 lb. sprung-weight equivalent weight savings--which translates into about 13 flywheel equivalent HP. I am not interested in tires higher than 18" because they would, in effect, increase the rear-end ratio numerically.

And, Bokke, your wheels do look great.

That sounds like a fantastic combination - great wheels and tires. You will notice a significant difference in the performance by saving that much unsprung weight.

Wolverine:

Thanks much for the moral support. Are your wheels (below) Black Diamonds? I think so from some of your posts, but somehow I am not sure. They don't look very black, but they look great--whatever. Thanks.

So what size tires are you planning on putting up front?

I don't know about 275s, but I'm looking to go bigger than 245s up front as I'm due for new tires pretty soon.

Hi All:

Go to the link below if you are interested in what I ended up doing. The discussion is at least slightly interesting--depending on your interests.
