[/quote]Yes, you need at least 9" rims for 275 tyres. Yup, the 10" rims are for the 275 tyres... The biggest tyres you can put on a 8.5" rim are 255.

[/quote]Thanks to all above for the input. My goal is good looks and significant weight savings (both are necessary conditions). I am thinking of BBS RGR's (8's F and 10's R) and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's. This combo yields about a 125 lb. sprung-weight equivalent weight savings--which translates into about 13 flywheel equivalent HP. I am not interested in tires higher than 18" because they would, in effect, increase the rear-end ratio numerically.And, Bokke, your wheels do look great.

[/quote]That sounds like a fantastic combination - great wheels and tires. You will notice a significant difference in the performance by saving that much unsprung weight.
