Thats exactly what was changed on my 545!!! After it was changed i had absolutely no problems with the SMG. Runs like a baby. Hopefully yours will turn out just like mine. But now i am having a strange popping noise in the front suspension so my brother is taking it in tomorrow since he is a technician at BMW. He said it might be something with the active suspension??? Hopefully its something simple. By any chance do you have the same problem??

Check the front hood hinges...
