Hello to everyone. I am a pretty new 545 owner and absolutely love it. I had the exact same problem with my SMG transmission the first week i bought it. Only had 33k on it and the previous owner had no problems with the SMG but as soon as i got it. Car gave me a transmission fault and emmisions fault error like 5 days after i bought it and was stuck in a parking deck at 1am. Thankfully my brother is a BMW technician and he came to save me. Car went into safe mode and only let me us gears 1 thru 3. So my brother took it in and hooked it up to the computer and it said that i needed to replace the SMG transmission pump?? Either way he fixed that and now i have had the car for about 2 months and no problems!! I absolutly love SMG. Before i had a 33oci. Upgrading to the 545 was great!! Even if i had that little problem at the beginning.

The good news I suppose; The car would not start at the dealer today. (So they are aware of the issue).
The bad news is they do not know what is wrong. The dealer stated they ran a diag (pulled the codes) on the car and uploaded them to BMWNA for recommendations whom takes upto 24 hours to respond. (Sounds to me like they waited until 4:30 to look at it)
I will keep you posted. The Service Manager did state that the car was very well taken car of by the previous owner and they are extremely surprised by the errors. In retro spec, I talked with the CPO manager the first night I owned the car (and this issue occurred), he stated this happened to him when he used the car as a company vehicle for a week or so... hmm. I wonder how hard he was driving the SMG (or if he knows how too)

The Dealer called today, BMWNA has determined the car's Hydraulic Pump for the SMG will need to be replaced.
Does anyone know if this replacement should be followed by any others? (Will this replacement cause damage?)
