I am having an untorelable valve tapping issues as per my post below:
post

BMWNA has told me that I can appeal with FSE personally through the dealer. So my dealer set up a meeting with the Field Service Engineer which will be this Friday. I really need those of you, with V8 to chime in whether you are experiencing loud valve-tapping issues or not. I will then print this thread and show it to the FSE, who claims the annoying noises are normal.

If you had the problem, and the dealer was able to fix it for you, please chime in what they did to fix it.

If you never have the tapping issues, please let me know because this would make my car abnormal.

If you have this problem, lets find a way to fix it.

My car is being sold in Autotrader as we speak. Please help me avoid having to sell my 545i at only 6,500 miles.

This is my final chance to make my case. Please help :'(

So BMWNA denied your request for a 'take back' under the Lemon Law or a trade assist? They just said "no"?

BMWNA said that since FSE (Field Service Engineer) found the tapping noises to be normal, then there is no problem. Lemon-Law will not apply, according to them.

All I want is my car to be operating normally. I don't want another new car, nor make it difficult for anybody.

I think you were at the 24th So Cal meet. I remember hearing your video and it does seem your car is louder than normal. You might want to compare your car to another at the lot.

However, take your car to another service department for a 2nd opinion.

Remember valvtronic engines (adjustable vales) make more noise than an engine without valvtronic.

I went back and checked my engine when cold the other night and with the engine hood open I can hear the "tapping" noise ever so slightly. With the hood closed or the sitting inside the cabin I can not make out the noise.

Mine is definetly not as loud as yours seem to be.

No tapping, engine very smooth and quiet at all RMP.

Is there another V8 at the dealer you can make a case against?
