My Ride: 2005 545i Black Sapphire - Fully Loaded
Model Year: 545i 2005
I've been eying for a 545i for quite some time now, and I found one that I was interested in. click here. Here's a vague description of what I saw in person. There was quite a few paint chips & swirl marks and one area may need a new clear coat (about 2 inches in width), there is also 1 ding at the rear of the car near the emblem. Also 1 rim was curbed pretty bad about 2 inches. anyone know how much these types of repair cost? I am also a little skeptical about purchasing this from a non BMW dealership, have anyone heard of this place? and last.. Any known problems with SMG transmission? I am open to all suggestions.

Get a carfax and know some history of the car (where it came from, previous accidents, length of posession of the previous owner/s and average yearly mileage). Carfax may not show all of the vehicle history but at least you will know where it came from (it may have been a car from a flooded state). Most cars sold at small dealerships are bought from auctions and cars from auctions come from all over U.S. For your peace of mind, make sure to get extended warranty covering the car even after the current manufacturer warranty expires.
You might want to start reading more about this model car here and familiarize yourself before buying one.

Any chance you could take it to a dealership and see if they can give you the service history of the car? That might give you an idea of where the car has been and how it was taken care of in its previous life (Previous owners I mean)

My Ride: 2010 M5 alpine white, black full leather, etc.
Just ask BMW dealers for available trade-ins that are CPOed. My 04 545i sport went to a BMW in NJ with 18,000 miles in absolutely flawless condition and I noticed on the dealer's site that they were asking $43,000. I think, therefore, you can do better price-wise and have a BMW dealer stand fully behind it. Any BMW dealer will also give you the CarFax sheet on a vehicle they sell. Good luck.

I just saw this car with this VIN, did you ever buy it? Please advise since it has had two owners now and wanted to know if there were/are any issues. I do have the car fax and seems clean.... Thank you!!
