I have ALREADY changed my 545i battery and yet I still get these multiple system faults on my 545i from time to time. I got the same problem on my M5 and the dealer replaced the steering angle sensor (SZL) which fixed the problem. Naturally, if it's not the battery on the 545i then it must be the SZL sensor as well, however; the dealer says the 545i does not have a SZL sensor because it has active steering, is this true? Kinda makes sense since the M5 is not equipped with AS.

The dealer is still trying to figure out the problem on the 545i. Has anyone encountered such a problem wherein a NEW battery didn't fix their multiple fault problem? What could be the culprit? Most sensors are triggered when there is a sudden rise or decrease in voltage input, thus, the supposed NEW battery solution. It didn't work. Could it be the alternator? Arrrggghhh... so many sensors, so many problems!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure Active Steering cars have the SZL sensor too... it certainly sounds like thats the fault... either that or the hydraluic fluid for the active steering is low or even leaking...

Heres one thread talking about the fault also.

On top of the AS fault, I also get other faults like ABS and Tire Pressure faults, are these SZL related as well? Anyway, I'll talk to my dealer about replacing the SZL sensor. Thanks bro!

Hmm, the 545 active steering problem to be evident, cause my friend had one at his shop, took it in for that issue and got the problem fixed. I think they replaced the whole active steering module.

I just hope that you are still under warranty because the 545 at my friends shop was at 49500 or something, before the last service could be done.
