actually, there's 32 valves since there's 4 per cylinder. And yes, I'd get a second opinion.

^^^wasn't sure if the V8 used a twin cam - so now the labor cost seems somewhat more realistic. Good luck.

That is exactly what is happening. Im hate to do it but I really cant stand this car anymore, Im goin to get rid of it. Piece of shit engines...or im just unlucky ?? this has been bothering me for a while now i have to let it out...I took my car to CIRCLE BMW in Eatontown NJ to have it checked out when I bought it at 85k, there was a rattle noise coming from front of engine and my windows motors went bad at 85k ?? but yehh..paid 250 to have car checked out plus 1,200 for new window motors and driver door module ?? they said car was perfect ???? , 2 weeks later I go to my indy to change oil..and there was a huge leak...so all down hill from there...fixed the leak then few weeks later i started to notice all the smoke...now i kno what is goin on...im second owner car was owned by a 76 year old man who said had never went over 85 mph and drove..like an old man...said he always got it serviced on time...

so you guys tell me 545i v8s are a true peice of SHIT.
