I've been getting around 16 to 18 mpg city. This baby sucks gas like it was drinking water. 535xi 2008.

reset the meter after each fill up in the i Drive for a more accurate usage for the mpg.

you can also do it manually by calculating. after a fill-up, drive until another needed fill-up and record how many miles driven. then divide that by how many gallons of gas you fill up with at the next fill-up. do it a couple times to get an average during that time too. just another option.

I used the idrive meter and it was different than the reading near the gas gauge. It was about 24 to 25 on the idrive today. Which one is right?

Yeah, I just did a quick search and it looks like the 545i only averages 17mpg. But, I'd rather enjoy the pedal on my 545i than worry about gas mileage on this car

I have been averaging 21.4 mpg, mostly city driving, and that is using a manual calculation which is about 5% lower than the car's computer. My best was 23.9 mpg and worst was 19.4 mpg.
