One thing I hate about BMW AG/NA is that it keeps information concerning new products and services from its customers and we have to hear about it through other sources.
If you can find a servering between Dinan and BMW, I would still like to hear about it.

Yes I did because that is what I was told, my dealer has updated this with BMW is now not going to totally replicate what Dinan is doing and will bring 3 series and Z4 products to the market. Apparently not enough of us 5'ers make modifications compared to the 3 and Z4 crowd.

Some executives at BMW have hinted strongly that the relationship is rather frayed.

Your post was one of the things that directed my attention to this.

At least when I commented back in July that the software was six months away, that was correct.
I don't have any special relationship with either BMW or Dinan, so I don't know where that relationship is heading now. BMW should just repackage Dinan stuff and resell it as BMW Motorsport and charge a markup. No risk, no development cost...

I never heard that was any contention between BMW and Dinan, it was just that BMW wanted to cash in on this type of product line.

Apparently that enough was enough to fray the relationship from what I've heard.
But you know what, thats the same 60 ft/lbs difference as between the 535 and 550. I might only be .2 sec quicker than the 550.

I am still excited, in two weeks 384 hp and 421 ft lbs of torque! That jump in torque has got to feel huge...

Dinan is still good stuff in my opinion. It should be great.
Glad the Dinan topic is resolved. I think a Dinan sticky is in order. Ah???

I had 545i before as well. I went with 535i primarily because the speed/power difference isn't there like it was between 530i and 545i. It was a big difference before and that made 545i decision pretty easy.
Now there's isn't much of a difference with all the torque up-front and I didn't feel like paying extra for a V8 and body moulding. I spent my money on a few more options this go around like Nav, Comfort access, iPod integration, rear folding seats instead.
I did end up installing Procede on my 535i. It's a totally different car to say the least.
