Hi everyone.

I'm due to collect my 535d on Thursday, I drove it on Monday and noticed the temp gauge seems to go lower, ie Higher temp than my current 530d se.

My 530 will show around 7-8 bars in the gauge once warm, pretty much in line with the 4.5k RPM mark. The 535 warmed to around 4.8rpm or only 4 bars showing?

Is this just a case of a more powerful engine revving more than the standard single turbo'd 530?

Any advice would be gratefully received!

Simon

When you say temperature gauge you mean the warning range on the rev counter don't you?

The 535d is allowed to rev higher than the 525d (I don't know about the 530d). When you floor a 535d the revs hit the red before the change up, on the 525d the autobox changes up sooner.

On my 535d when warm I have 4 bars showing before 5000rpm.

I have had a long conversation with my dealer about this and they claim there is no temp. gauge on the 535d. There has been some forum debate over this so have a look and judge for yourself:

This is pretty strange when we have all been used to temperature gauges in every other car...

You can see the engine temp. by looking at the 'hidden' menus but I believe they are not easy keep visible when driving.

look at the segments on rev range and they diminish as the car warms!
