530i vs 550i

Yeah, I am figuring in the cost of gas....That is one of the 2 reasons I am getting rid of my Grand Cherokee.
However, the 550i I drove (was the owner's) had 1500 miles on it and it was averaging 19 mpg. Not bad for the power it has...
I am going to tell him where I need to be, and if he can't meet me, well I won't do anything.
Right now, I am about $75 more per month on the 550i with 36 months/12000 miles/with a little negative rollover than if I walked off the street to lease it with no history in my trade it. I think I can get it lower.
Thing is, if I get the 550i, I won't get it until November as I will have to order it.

What's your average MPH. I get about 18 in my 545i averaging about 26 MPH. I am not overly aggresive, but I definitely am not a toad. I would imagine you do a fair amount of road work.

Got. Yes, when I am trying for MPG, I pay close attention to the instantaneous mph indicator.

When I bought my 1999 323i, I wished I had bought a 328i.
When I bought my 2002 325xi, I wished I had bought a 330xi.
When I looked at a 5er, I didn't make the same mistake a third time!
If price is a big issue, I would easily drop the nav option and get the 550i without over the 530i with it.
I love my 550i - but I would say I only average about 16-17 mpg.

I think you will find less $$ difference. 550 comes with many of those options like compfrt seats. If gas mileage is not an issue, its a no brainer. Get the 550i

For those of you who have the 530i with sport package....Do you regret not getting the v8? I wouldn't mind the price difference so much, but this is the first time in mine and my wife's lives that we have started making good money, and I just don't want to go overboard. The 550i will be around $200 more per month.
