What values did you get with DMS remapping ? Torque & HP ?? Price ?
I believe the numbers are - 260BHP 600Nm ?750 (with E60.net discount)

Forget the numbers, it *feels* like a 300BHP petrol engine, except that you have to change gear at 5000 RPM.

14.2s 1/4 mile. Quicker than the Porsche 928 S4 that I used to own (320BHP)

Like Shiny, I also moved from an old M3 to the 530D. I tested the 530i and was very disappointed, expectedly so after the M3.

The 530D had the element of excitement that the 530i lacked. Keep in mind that we are at 6000 feet above sea level and the turbo makes a huge difference.

I would buy another one, and if the 535D was available here I would be in that right now!!

Merv have you tried a petrol? I personally haven't but I wouldn't mind having a go... The 540i looks interesting but the predicted residuals are depressing!

To tell the truth I haven't tried a petrol E60. I did used to have an E39 528i manual which I found ok once it was wound up, it seemed to have no torque and very high gearing making driving a chore. I would think driving an E60 530i/540i would be much better but not on par with a 535d. The 0-60's may be similar but in most driving situations you're already moving and I don't need to remind you of the explosive in gear times the modern BM diesels offer. I did drive a Porshe 911 Carrera 4 Tiptronic the other day and whilst a great fast car I noticed the lack of torque imediately.
