The particle filter is an option for most countries. And in countries where it becomes standard mean a price adder. If no price adder, then you get the dirty engine.

 

That's not the official info that BMW released.

They informed that all new cars delivered in europe after March will have the new particle filter and therefore the new exaust pipe (Maybe starting February production).

This particle filter started to be fitted by the time the new 525d production started.
The thing is that they have to be under the EURO 4 rules after 1st January 2005 (in EUROPE).

Some of the 530d being sold at this moment are from production before that change that's the reason for some 530d turned down exaust pipes being delivered at the moment.

 

The key thing is; that from a private buyers perspective, the EU 4 cars are 3800 more - and apart from the exhaust aesthetics - there is no benefit!

I have heard that the "straight" exhaust pipes will be added after production week 10.

I think that we will get the ordinary because the dealer told us that the car hade been build in week 8 or 9!!! Missing one week!

We still hope for the EU4 with straight pipes. We will get the car this week
