24 additional horsepower? That is a lot for a chip. I had a 330Ci with Dina chip and cold air intake producing something between 15 to 20 hp max. I think that is exagerated because they are the only ones so far that I know. None of the major companies have one yet (Dinan, Alpina, etc) specially for the US market. I have tuned all my cars with Dinan because of the warranty. Some other companies offered a bit more aggressive tunning but that is on your own risk. So far I'm the waiting list for Dinan in my dealer. I even called Dinan and they said maybe by 3rd quarter (July to August). <_<

Tuga, all those chips are for Europe only. There is nothing for the USA yet. Even, I tried to change my intake and the Air sensor now is build withing the airbox so no can do.

Gonzo,

Yes, iwas very close on intalling that supercharger on my 330Ci but family grew and needd a bigger car.
Active Autowerke (AA) are about 1/5 hours from where I'am . Im asked them about performance upgrades, specially a chip. They said " Eventhough the engines are the same, the computer configurations and Tranny are different". They are not sure when will be working on that. But is on the todo list. <_< waiting ....

I though of designing and fabricating an intake from HD (Home Depot) like some E39 owners did for their 540s but nah, It will be too expensive if I damage the MAF sensor, plus don't have any time....

Don Juan:

Thanks for the enlightenment about the supercharger. I'm quite sure aatuning will figure something out.

I've debated on whether what the right choice is, the 530 or the 545. I ended up with the 530 mainly because it's enough power for me. Coming from a 330, the roomy interior is nicer...of course. True that the 545 is more fun to drive, I think I've already graduated from speeding around town and just want a relaxing drive. Although once in awhile I tend to blow the carbon deposits...most especially on turns...wife needs a brake pedal on the passenger side!
