525i MANY PROBLEMS
Hey whats up guys, Im have a few problems with my 04 525i. The first problem that i have encountered is while driving. When driving at speeds of +65 mph the car starts to shift slightly left to right. It almost feels as if the wind coming against the car is picking up the car and tossing it left to right (steering while doesnt move).
Another Problem, is that the check engine light recently came on stating REDUCED EMISSIONS.. my guess that it could be the cats due to a gasoline burning smell only detected the first 2 min. of the car turned on.
Lastly, In the last month TWICE my car has gone in to reduced power mode where the cars rpm would start jumping in any gear (even in park). But once I turn the car off and restart it, it goes back to normal.
If any of you guys have any idea please lmk. Looking forward to hearing from you guys and thank you in advance.

How many miles do you have on the car? I think the first thing you should solve is the engine lights. You need to get the codes read to see what is going on (advance auto or some where similar; preferably a shop that can give your BMW readouts). You might not have bad cats it could be the O2 sensors depending on how long you have driven on bad sensors. Which could also be the reduced emissions but could not be. You should be looking for air leak also fi the o@ doesnt solve both issues. Also could be plugs and boots. The main thing is to get the codes read. You cant troubleshoot without the codes.
Now your drifting could be anything (tires, tie rods, or suspension). check the tires. Have you had an alignment done. If not go get it done usually they catch things you do not know to look for while doing the work. Do not go any where but a BMW dealership or Indy shop for it because regular shops will not do it right because the car needs to have weight in it for it to be aligned correctly.
