Carpe diem, I say.

Buy it today, drive it today and (most importantly) enjoy it today.

There's always going to be something new (e.g. facelift, bigger engine, different options, new colors, etc.). If you end up waiting for the next "new" thing you'll end up waiting for the rest of your life.

Now, that would no fun, right?
Right. The best "buy it today" experience I ever had was the 2002 Z06. It has been the fastest Corvette ever streeted from 2002 until just now--with the 2006 Z06's now hitting the streets. And, as far as I am concerned, the 2006 Z06's don't exist until I see one on the street. But, then there is the gorgeous silver one at my dealer.

Based on my purchasing history, I can exclusively reveal that that the facelifted 5-series will be announced and available for immediate delivery the day after I have picked up my next (current model) E60....
How true that is

I agree with "Enjoy today, don't worry about tomorrow" philosophy. Nevertheless, I still feel for those, my personal friend included, whom have bought their MY05 530i and then weeks later, found out that MY06 530i with the new engine was available for ordering. He told me that he felt like having just bought a brand new "used car"

I for instance, had the opportunity to enjoy my 545i for whole 3 month's before the 750i was announced. I knew right away that 550i was imminent. Suddenly, my dream of trading up my car in 3 years became much more expensive due to abrupt depreciation associated with major model change. No sir, I was not amused.

Fall in Europe would equal Fall in US + 1 month for transit time. When BMW updates the bodywork for one of it's models, it happens worldwide at the same time.

Europe: fall 2007, so should hit US soil spring 2008 (according to german car magazine "auto motor & sport")

just for reassurance to all existing 5 series owners

just been down to my local dealer, where a member of the family works (well its 150km
away in Plovdiv, but thats not a great matter)... had a sneaky peak at BMW's production
schedule for the next 14 months (until week 9 february 2007)

There will be no interruptions in the current e60 model (so no facelift)
There will be no engine additions...
The 535d should receive a minor 23Bhp power increase starting week 14, 2007 (not finalized)
