Hey All,

I'm a newbie in the E60 world and here is my concern: I live in France, and want to order one. I'm 32 and ... for us frenchies, this car is not a youngster one. I'm now hesitating between the E60 and the 3 series touring... hard choice, but for me it's only an image thing. What do you think? Should i go for an E60 (honestly)?

Best & Merci,

N.
If you like it, who cares what anyone else thinks. Do you need the room. If not I would look at a 3er. I liked the 330I sedan over the 530i sedan, but the trunk space was way to small. The 330i has bigger front brakes. I really like the 335i. Being in France though I would imagine you are going for diesel? Good luck

I think the Alfa's are the best looking lines anywhere.

Image was important to me in the past and now at 45 I don't give a rats ass what anyone thinks.

Buy the car you want and what is affordable. Make sure your putting money away cuz it might look good to drive a nice car but its stupid if your not fiscally balanced.

If you are, and your family is secure, in a good house, good schools, and money for vacations and the things that really matter in life, then get what makes you feel good. Making a smart decision is also important.

If the car makes the man, then its a shallow existance.

Get a 3 touring and look good, have fun, and feel smart!

Maybe not in your territory but here Alfa depreciation is simply massive.

to this forum.

Go for your own favourite. The E60 is a very nice car and I would prefer it above the 3-series, but it should be your choice. The hell with what other people think!
I bought mine at age 34 and the E63 isn't a typical youngsters car either.

I would say: go for the 5-er, you won't regret it for sure.

If you read the entire thread, you'll see that the problem posed by the original poster has been solved.

He's ordered his e60.

In the colonies, we don't even get the Alfa's anymore!

My recent trip across the pond I got to see a bunch on the road and just think they look incredible.

The 159 is a great looking car. I can't speak for its mechanics or ride let alone the financial implications!

I choose my 530i partial for its great resale value.

Here's what you do....put both cars nose to nose, move about 30 meters away and start walking towards them. You'll know which one to get in before you get there. Don't look back.
