This forum rocks! I know for a fact it is the key. I just used my original key and all my presets are back along with the DTE gauge.

you find the battery yet?
its behind the carpeted panel on the right side of the trunk. lift floor carpet, remove 2 plastic screws on side panel, and then pull panel out.
